If you don’t know already, we ihijians love our craft beer. Last year we published a list of Five Breweries to See While You Are In Denver At CEDIA Expo. Since this is the last CEDIA Expo in Denver you might as well take advantage of one of the best beer cities in the US. If you’re interested we’re also putting together an unofficial official CEDIA Expo beer crawl on Saturday night – details here.
All of these breweries are withing a b-cycle bike ride and most of them are within 20 minutes walking of the convention center. Regardless of your transportation, please be cool, drink responsibly and hitch an Uber home if you need.
Here’s our list (in no particular order):
River north is my favorite brewery on this year’s list. They’re only a few years old which means they are releasing some of their barrel aged beers. It’s worth a cab, b-cycle or 20 minute walk to check it out. Cool tasting room environment too. If they have a barrel aged quad of any type I’d check it out (if you’re not driving!).
Epic is a transplant from Utah. They make some great beers and have a very fancy and less than a year old tasting room. Worth checking out if you’re up near River North.
Based in Breckenridge their tasting room and restaurant in Denver is a great spot for some solid beers. Solid draft list and in-town location make it one to check out.
Blackshirt is a little further from the convention center but a B-Cycle or Car2Go will get you there in very little time. They brew beers with a theme – red stuff. Red Saison, Pale Red Rye and so on. It’s a nice little tasting room with some good tunes playing while you enjoy the atmosphere and the suds.
This is one that was recommended to be by the guys at Strange Brewery (which was on my 2013 best breweries in Denver list). It was Sunday before my flight out of town so I plan on making a trip over there this year to check it out. Strange makes great beer so I can’t doubt their recommendation.
