It is always a balance between meeting your client’s high expectations, while completing the project within their defined budget. When you factor in the shrinking margins on the hardware devices you are selling into each project, the question must be raised; “Where or how are you going to make up for that loss to your bottom line?”

When you are able to deliver a service that your  clients not only value, but demand, there is a much greater likelihood that they will be willing to pay for that service on a monthly basis.  What we are talking about is a completely new service opportunity called Remote Managed Services, and it could an be the answer to help integration business owners to improve margins and grow their overall value.

Not ready for a client service and support plan?

As the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and technologies explode around us, it may be a little daunting to get into something which seems so new and different. That is understandable, and maybe right now you can’t put a priority around building a new service and support plan from scratch. That is OK too. However, it doesn’t mean you should do nothing.

Install the right remote network management appliance

Today, while you are on-site installing the a new client’s network and IP devices, just connect an Ihiji appliance to the router on the network. Even if you choose not to monitor, diagnose and resolve issues on that client’s site right now, you have opened up the opportunity to introduce a recurring revenue plan to them in the future.

By planning for the growth, you are future-proofing your clients and opening up great new revenue generating opportunities.

Don’t be limited by the appliance

In the early days of the IP enabled AV, security and smarthome device you could install an Ihiji APP-500, geared towards the smaller sized network, and be OK. Today, the growth rate over the next 5 years of IP devices in this new IoT market is expected to be massive. Therefore, it is in your best interest to make certain that the Ihiji appliance that you install on a client site is a model which allows for a much larger number of devices, services and processing power.
